This means that you can leverage the AutoVue Document Print Service yo as part of your printing solution to automate the printing of virtually any document type required in any business process. Congert print solution consists of three main components, as described in the diagram below: The print server will also take care of calling the AutoVue Document Print Service to perform the actual printing.
AutoVue VueLink integrations are pre-packaged AutoVue integrations with most common enterprise systems. Check our Website for more information on the convdrt to fetch documents out of the document management system for printing. If the documents you need to print from your application are not stored in sutovue content management system, the Print Server will need to ensure that files are made available to the AutoVue Document Print Service.
The Print Server could for example fetch the files out of your application or an extension to the application could be developed to fetch the files and make them available to the AutoVue DPS.

What deployment options are available to AutoVue Stay on AutoVue Desktop Version Migrate to AutoVue and select the desktop deployment method Option 3: Windows users take for granted that when they double click on a document or design, that it will open up in its application automatically.
It’s pretty easy, but there are a few tricks to doing it. You can find it here Document You also want to download the AV.
This is the icon that will be used for all file types associated with AutoVue. You can do this through the Windows user interface, or you can set up a batch file to do this. Associating File Types Through Windows The way most people associate file types to an application is using the Windows user interface.
You’ve probably tried to open a file type that Windows doesn’t recognize and seen this window pop up: Although you can use this dialog to associate that file type with AutoVueI don’t recommend it.
I much prefer using a batch file to associate file types with AutoVue. Associating File Types Using A Batch File There are a few good reasons to associate file types using a batch file instead of using the pop-up dialog method: If you have several file types to associate with AutoVueit’s much easier to use a batch file to do them all at once.
Doing converh through the Windows user interface requires having files of each type available. Using a batch file doesn’t require having the files you’re associating. Associating file types through the dialog may work well for one person, but what if you’re an administrator doing an enterprise wide deployment of AutoVue Batcu Deployment for several hundred users? You don’t want to do this manually for each user.

I’d love to hear how are you using AutoVue Desktop Deployment. What other deployment tips would you be interested in learning about? The ALM Summit brought together over Oracle maintenance practitioners who endured the foggy and rainy San Francisco weather to attend the 4th edition of this Oracle-driven conference. Attendees have roles in maintenance management and IT.
Following a general session, Ralph Rio from ARC Advisory Group provided batc very interesting keynote session discussing Asset Management directions, both in the short and long run. This is where AutoVue comes into play. AutoVue ‘s built-in digital annotation capabilities allows maintenance workers and technicians to report changes in configuration and visually capture the cinvert between as-built and as-maintained versions of asset documents.
This information can then be easily handed over to engineers who can identify changes and incorporate these modifications into the drawings during the next round of document revisions.
The second day of the conference was the occasion for us to present the integration between AutoVue and Primavera P6 to the Maintenance Summit audience. The presentation was a great success and generated much discussion with partners and customers during breaks. As the trend to digitize all paper assets continues, so does the push to digitize all the processes around these assets.
One such process is redaction – removing sensitive or classified information from documents. While for some this may conjure up thoughts of old CIA documents filled with nothing but blacked out pages, there are actually many uses for redaction today beyond military and government.
Many companies have a need to remove names, phone numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers, etc. The process converrt digital redaction actually isn’t that far from the old paper method: Make a copy of that document, since some folks still need to access convrrt original contents Step 3.
Black out the text or pages you want to hide Step 4. Release convetr distribute this new ‘redacted’ copy So where cknvert a solution like AutoVue come in? Well, we’ve really been doing all of these things for years!
With AutoVue ‘s VueLink integration and iSDK, we can integrate to virtually any content management system and view documents of almost any format with a single click. Finding the document and opening it in AutoVue: With AutoVue ‘s markup capabilities, adding filled boxes or other shapes around certain text is a no-brainer.
Black out the text you want to hide: Burning-in the redactions avoids slip-ups like the recent well-publicized TSA one.

Through our tight integrations, the newly created copies can be directly checked into the content management system with no manual intervention. Make a copy of that document: Again, leveraging AutoVue coonvert integrations, we can now define rules in the system based on a user’s privileges.
An ‘authorized’ user wishing to view the document from the repository will get exactly that – no redactions. An ‘unauthorized’ user, when requesting to view that same document, can get redirected to open the redacted copy of the same document.
Release or distribute the new ‘redacted’ copy: See this movie WMV format, 2mins, 20secs, no audio for a quick illustration of AutoVue ‘s redaction capabilities.

Oracle’s Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management is an integrated project portfolio management PPM application that helps select the right strategic mix of projects, balance resource capacity, manage project risk and complete projects on time and within budget. The integration between the two products, which autovu announced during Oracle Open Worldprovides project teams with ready access to any project donvert directly from within the context of P6 in support for project scope definition and project planning and execution.
You can learn more about the integration between AutoVue and Primavera P6 by: Listening to the Oracle Appcast entitled Enhance Primavera Project Document Collaboration with AutoVue Enterprise Visualization Watching an Oracle Webcast about how to improve project success with document visualization and collaboration Watching a recorded demo of the integrated autogue Teams involved in complex projects like construction or plant shutdown activities are highly interdependent: This coupled with increasing project complexity, a vast array of players and heavy engineering and document-intensive workflows makes it more challenging to complete jobs on time and within budget.
Organizations need complete visibility into project information, as well as robust project planning, risk analysis and resource balancing capabilities similar to those featured in Primavera P6 ; they also need to make sure that all project stakeholders, even those who neither understand engineering drawings nor are interested in engineering details that go beyond their specific needs, have ready access to technically advanced project information.
This is exactly what the integration between AutoVue and Primavera delivers: There is no need for users to waste time searching for project-related documents or disrupting engineers for printouts, users have all the context they need to make sound decisions right from within Primavera P6 with a single click of a button.
We are very excited about this new integration. Over the years, I’ve spoken to hundreds of customers who use AutoVue to collaborate on their “managed” data stored in content management systems, product lifecycle management systems, etc. Through these conversations I’ve also learned a harsh reality – we will never fully move away from unmanaged data desktops, file servers, emails, etc.
